The discussion centers around the membership statistics of a forum, with participants speculating on the total number of members and what constitutes "regulars." One user estimates the total membership at approximately 61,291, while others note that around 200 members are active participants. The forum gains about 100 new members daily, but the owner regularly purges inactive accounts to maintain a realistic count. There is curiosity about how many members post at least once a week, with humorous references to the activity levels of various users. The conversation shifts to light-hearted banter about a classic joke regarding how many forum members it takes to change a light bulb, illustrating the community's camaraderie and humor. Overall, the thread reflects a mix of curiosity about forum dynamics and playful interactions among members.

how many pfers does it take to unscrew a lightbulb?

If we were on the academic and career guidance board: one to unscrew the lightbulb and post a thread on it, and seven more to argue about why physics majors should not become professional lightbulb technicians.

Alternatively, on the homework help forum: one to post a thread asking for help unscrewing the lightbulb, one to tell him that he needs to post some work instead of expecting others to unscrew the lightbulb for him, and one more to post detailed directions on how to unscrew the lightbulb.

Somebody better laugh...I do try.

In the homework help forum: One to post a thread asking how to unscrew a lightbulb, stating that he needs help URGENTLY! Add in a few posts, all within ten minutes shouting "BUMP! ANYONE?". One member asking for the poster to rephrase the question in a more understandable way. Another member to tell him that he needs to post some work. The poster then says he tried to unscrew it by twisting it to the right, but it's not working. One member with 3 posts to tell him that he needs to continue trying, and that interestingly enough, he can get free energy from the vacuum of the lightbulb. Two members to laugh at that member. One member to finally post detailed instructions.

C'mon, Evo... Don't encourage people to post in the wrong thread--this discussion should clearly be moved out of a statistical analysis of PF and into the lightbulb changing forum!:-p

Hey you've gone gold! :approve: Welcome to the fold!

I like your mobius strip, I've never seen one done as a ring, that's cool. Now I want one.

Thanks, people!

Yeah, Evo, I was googling mobius strip for my avatar somewhere else a while back and found this pic. I actually did end up buying the ring from the website, only I saved myself a bit of money by getting it in silver.
