AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the challenge of drawing tangents from the point of inflection on a peak in a chromatogram using Qtiplot or Excel. Participants question the clarity of the assignment, particularly the phrase "point of inflection on a peak," noting that inflection points typically do not occur at peaks except in specific cases like square waves. Suggestions include manually drawing the tangent line on a printed plot or adding a data series in Excel to create the desired line. The conversation emphasizes the need for precise understanding of the assignment's requirements. Overall, clarity in the assignment's terminology is crucial for successfully completing the task.

Hi , I have an assignment which requires that I draw tangents from the point of inflection on a peak to the x-axis.I still cannot figure out how to do that using qtiplot or excel.

Can't you just print out the plot of the curve, and then manually draw in the tangent line?

I'm having a bit of a problem with the phrase "the point of inflection on a peak". Except for things like square waves, inflection points don't happen on peaks.

Are you quoting the assignment precisely?

In excel, you can add another data series to your plot and adjust the values accordingly to get any line you want.

I can , I thought it should look very professional.Sometimes I can't help thinking that way , thanks for drawing my attention to 'common sense'

Its a chromatogram

I don't get how to argue it. i can prove: evolution is the ability to adapt, whether it's progression or regression from some point of view, so if evolution is not constant then animal generations couldn`t stay alive for a big amount of time because when climate is changing this generations die. but they dont. so evolution is constant. but its not an argument, right? how to fing arguments when i only prove it.. analytically, i guess it called that (this is indirectly related to biology, im...
