I am hanging an indoor swing. The swing hangs from ropes and the ropes are attached to a single chain hooked into the ceiling. I want the swing to "swing back and forth" but I do not want the swing to "spin" around -- I want it to face in one direction. Is there something I can do to stop the spin if I only have one contact point in the ceiling? Something I can attach to the chain?

If you have only a single contact point and your connection is flexible (rope) then I don't see how that could be possible. Do you HAVE to have just a single contact point? If you can put one hook in the ceiling, why not two?
