Discussion Overview

The discussion focuses on finding resources for solving problems related to mechanisms with one degree of freedom using graphical methods, specifically in the context of kinematics and dynamics, applying Newton's laws.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Technical explanation, Homework-related

Main Points Raised

  • One participant seeks information on graphical methods for solving mechanism problems, particularly for determining speed and acceleration.
  • Another participant inquires if the original poster is looking for displacement diagrams.
  • A third participant provides a link to lecture notes in Croatian, suggesting that while the language may be a barrier, the mathematical content could still be useful.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

The discussion does not present a consensus, as participants are clarifying the specific needs of the original poster and providing different types of resources.

Contextual Notes

The provided resources may have limitations due to language barriers and the assumption that the mathematical content is accessible to those familiar with the subject.

Hi,

I would like to know if there's anywhere I can find information on how to solve problems that deal with mechanisms (1 degree of freedom) using graphical methods, because I couldn't find any.

Thank you.

Hm, what exactly are you looking for? Displacement diagrams?

Only how to find speed and acceleration of the elements of the mechanism, that is applying Newton's laws to solve kinematics (and dynamics) problems graphically.

Here are some lecture notes, but unfortunately they're in Croatian. But then again, it's mostly "math", so I think you can figure it out.

The links "Predavanje 6" and "Predavanje 7" should help.
