SUMMARY

The International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) will take place in Hyderabad, India, next year. A second-year undergraduate mathematics student inquired about the benefits of attending the congress versus staying back to study. Participants in the discussion emphasized that attending ICM can provide invaluable exposure to advanced mathematical concepts and networking opportunities, even if some lectures may be challenging. Overall, the consensus is that the experience gained from attending ICM outweighs the potential difficulty of the content presented.

PREREQUISITES
  • Basic understanding of undergraduate-level mathematics
  • Familiarity with mathematical research topics

(Well I don't know if this post should be here or not. If not please move it to the appropriate place.)

Hi Everyone.

Next year International Congress of Mathematicians will be held in Hyderabad, India. And I am 2nd Yr undergraduate student in mathematics, and I wish to attend it. The thing I want to know that will it be beneficial for me, or will the lectures held will be going 'above my head'. I mean, what will you suggest - going for the congress, or staying back and study?

Thanks...
