or even a percentage of it. i know this is more of a philosophy question but could it be like a holodeck, where the gravity, floor and walls are real but the rest of it is a simulation? (this is a metaphor of course.) so space and gravity as an example are a simulation but consciousness and matter is not. or vica versa. i looked on google but couldn't find anything like this. i know that if an idea hasnt been thought of, it doesn't necessarily make it correct or if an idea has already been thought of it doesn't necessarily make it incorrect.

As a rule, we don't discuss philosophy. Your question is reminiscent of The Matrix movie plots where the actors are real, living in a simulation with simulated bodies. When they awaken, they see the harsh reality of being hooked up to a giant network of other humans controlled by an alien intelligence.

You could develop your idea into a sci-fi story although it should be original and not a copy of The Matrix idea.
