The issue discussed involves the incorrect display of LaTeX code in a forum, specifically showing e^{z/y} instead of the intended e^{x/y}. The user experiencing the problem is using Firefox 14.0.1 and has attempted to clear the cache without resolution. Another user confirms that the display appears correct in Safari 4.1.3. A key tip shared is to enclose multiple characters following ^ or _ in curly braces to avoid display errors. Proper formatting is essential for correct rendering of mathematical expressions in forums.

The question is:
\int_0^1\int_x^1e^\frac{x}{y}dydx=\frac{1}{2}(e-1)

I have no idea why but my browser shows e^{z/y} instead of e^{x/y} as the itex code is written. I am using Firefox 14.0.1
I tried clearing cache, etc but the problem still persists. Is this some bug with the forum?

hi sharks!

(looks ok to me on Safari 4.1.3)

if you have more than one character after ^ or _ you should always put them inside {} …

funny things may happen if you don't! o:)

To the dedicated, long-term, and continuously active members of this community: What keeps you coming back and contributing regularly after all this time? Is it the joy...
