AI Thread Summary
A mentorship group for students at the Network Academy of Science is being established, raising questions about science experiment safety in a remote learning context. The mentor seeks recommendations for reliable websites focused on science experiment safety, emphasizing the importance of students understanding safety protocols since teachers typically conduct experiments in person. There is also interest in sharing tips from those with experience in remote mentorship and inquiries about the New York Academy of Science mentorship program. Suggestions include providing age-appropriate resources and video clips to enhance understanding, as well as ensuring mentor availability during experiments for guidance.

Hello all:

Start mentoring group of students , on network academy of science
Few questions raised with seeing the platform

Could fellow PF members , recommend a good website on science experiments safety issues, in my school system usually the teacher conduct the science experiment in front of students , and as the mentorship is remote I think it is a good idea to ask them to read about safety

Did any one conduct a remote mentorship which he like to share few tips

Any one from the fellow PF community have experience with New York academy of science mentorship program, I can ask few questions?

Best Regards
H

That's a very good idea; thanks for thinking about that.

What age group and level of education are these students? What resources do they have available for these experiments? Will you be available via remote link-up during their experiments, or are they on their own during the actual experiments?

From what I concluded is a mix or they only provide theoretical studies , but I think a link for them to read that is directed to high school students is a good idea, if also there is a link of video clip on that subject , is also a good idea

Sequences and series are related concepts, but they differ extremely from one another. I believe that students in integral calculus often confuse them. Part of the problem is that: Sequences are usually taught only briefly before moving on to series. The definition of a series involves two related sequences (terms and partial sums). Both have operations that take in a sequence and output a number (the limit or the sum). Both have convergence tests for convergence (monotone convergence and...
Hi all, I am in the process of adding physics to my teachable subjects, and I have a project due soon where I have been asked to improve upon a Leaving Certificate Physics experiment. The only thing is I haven't actually taught physics yet, and was wondering if any teachers could share their thoughts on the experiments and any challenges you have faced or any improvements you would like to see made to the experiments.
