"All JIS are published by Japanese Standards Association (JSA). English versions of JIS are published by JSA."
I suggest to contact JSA and ask: https://www.jisc.go.jp/eng/pj/index.html

To me it looks like there wasn't an English version available and if, it would likely be translated otherwise, which we cannot recommend. Nor can we accept links which might breach copyright laws.

1. What is JIS-B8830 and how does it relate to wind load assessment?

JIS-B8830 is a Japanese Industrial Standard that provides guidelines for the assessment of wind loads on buildings and structures. It outlines the procedures for calculating wind loads and their effects on different types of structures.

2. Who should use the JIS-B8830 Wind Load Assessment book?

The JIS-B8830 book is primarily used by structural engineers, architects, and other professionals involved in the design and construction of buildings and structures. It may also be used by government agencies and building code officials.

3. Is JIS-B8830 applicable to all types of structures?

Yes, JIS-B8830 is applicable to a wide range of structures, including buildings, bridges, towers, and other civil engineering structures. However, it may not be suitable for more specialized structures such as offshore platforms or wind turbines.

4. What information is included in the JIS-B8830 Wind Load Assessment book?

The JIS-B8830 book includes detailed information on the calculation of wind loads, including the determination of wind speeds, pressure coefficients, and structural response. It also provides guidance on the selection of appropriate design wind speeds and methods for considering the effects of wind on different types of structures.

5. Are there any updates or revisions to the JIS-B8830 Wind Load Assessment book?

Yes, the JIS-B8830 standard is periodically updated to reflect the latest research and advancements in wind engineering. It is important to check for any updates or revisions to ensure that the most current methods and guidelines are being used for wind load assessment.
