Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around locating a specific interactive or semi-interactive LaTeX resource that was previously shared in a forum thread. Participants are trying to recall details about the resource, including its format and the forum section where it was posted.

Discussion Character

  • Meta-discussion
  • Exploratory

Main Points Raised

  • One participant recalls a useful table of LaTeX that was interactive or semi-interactive but cannot find it.
  • Another participant suggests "detexify," which allows users to draw symbols to find the corresponding LaTeX code, but this is not what the original poster is looking for.
  • There is a mention of a drop-down table in the resource that the original poster remembers.
  • Participants inquire about the specific forum area where the resource might have been posted, with a belief that it was in the LaTeX forum.
  • One participant recalls a resource with pop-up tables of examples and expresses a willingness to help locate it.
  • Another participant provides a link to a site that has a list of ready-made equations but doubts it matches the original memory.
  • The original poster clarifies that they remember the resource being more comprehensive, with symbols readily visible, rather than requiring navigation to another site.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants do not seem to reach a consensus on the exact resource being sought. Multiple competing views and memories about the nature of the resource remain, and the discussion is unresolved.

Contextual Notes

Participants express uncertainty about the exact details of the resource, including its format and location within the forum. There are limitations in recalling specific features and the exact forum thread.

TL;DR
Latex interactive guide
Within the last year someone posted on a thread, it wasn't the main thread subject I think, a very useful seeming table of Latex which I think was interactive or semi-interactive. I thought note that and didn't and now can't find it. It would be useful to me right now, and think it would be useful to many others. Can anyone recall it?

I'm not sure what you are after. The only thing that comes to mind is detexify, which allows you do draw something and it finds the ##\LaTeX## symbol closest to it.

It wasn't that. There was I think a drop down table in it.

Do you remember which area of PF it was in? In Math or Physics or Feedback or in the LaTeX forum?

I believe the LaTeX forum.

Was this the one with a lot of pop-up tables of examples for various selections? (I remember that one as useful...I may be able to relocate it! maybe)

Could be, not sure, but if it's useful OK anywa.

This is the best I could find. I don't think it is the same as my memory but the list of ready made eqns looks similar as does the color scheme

No I think it was more all there with symbols in front of you. Nothing where you had to go somewhere else. Maybe LaTeX wasn't the main subject of the thread and it was just number x post, not leading.
