Homework Statement

A Company use two vans from 7-9am. ONE van has 9 more seat than the other. The smaller van makes two trips, and the larger van make 1 trip?
The maximum seats of both vans that was given would be 69.
Let x be the seats of small van and y be the seat of the larger van.
How many seats does the LARGER VAN have?

Homework Equations

USE LINEAR

The Attempt at a Solution

Y=X+9
69=X+x+9
-9 -9
60=2X
2 2
X=30.....
THAT THE ANSWER BUT BACK TO THE QUESTION (How many seats does the LARGER VAN have? and the fact that the smaller van takes two trips) what's after that is it 30 x 2= 60 because x is the smaller van, two trips then subtract to total number of both 69-60=9
y=9

Your equations are faulty. The small van makes TWO trips, while the big van only ONE. The THREE trips counted together can transport 69 people. Hope this makes it clearer.
