SUMMARY

This discussion centers on understanding electrical impedance, particularly in circuits with inductors and capacitors. Users recommend starting with resources like Wikipedia and Hyperphysics for foundational knowledge. Additionally, utilizing Google searches with the term "tutorial" appended to keywords can yield valuable instructional content. The focus is on investigating impedance responses and addressing issues related to resonance in these circuits.

PREREQUISITES
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits
  • Familiarity with inductors and capacitors
  • Knowledge of resonance phenomena
  • Ability to conduct online research effectively
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore Wikipedia's section on electrical impedance
  • Review Hyperphysics articles on reactance and impedance
  • Search for "Electrical Impedance Tutorial" on Google
  • Investigate resonance in RLC circuits
USEFUL FOR

Students, electrical engineers, and hobbyists seeking to deepen their understanding of electrical impedance and its applications in circuit analysis.

I have to investigate electrical impedance to make progress on a project. Does anyone know of any good resources to begin to understand impedance and reactance, particularly relating to circuits containing inductors and capacitors?
I am trying to investigate impedance responses of these circuits and am seeing some strange results with resonances.

Welcome to the PF.

I would start with Wikipedia and Hyperphysics. Have you looked there yet?

I've also had good luck with Google searches when I append the word tutorial to the search terms. So for example, you could search on Electrical Impedance Tutorial. That should get you to some useful information pages.
