Magnification of an image - How does the image look like?

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion centers on determining the nature of an image when the magnification is -3.5. A negative magnification indicates that the image is virtual and inverted, while a magnitude greater than one suggests that the image is larger than the object. Participants reference the lens formula for further clarification on image characteristics. The consensus is that the image is virtual and larger than the object.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of optical magnification concepts
  • Familiarity with the lens formula
  • Knowledge of real vs. virtual images

If the magnification for an image is equal to –3.5, what is the nature of the image?

I am having difficulties understanding this question and finding answer. Can anyone can tell me where can I find information about this question or how to solve it?...

It would seem that they are interested in knowing if the image is real or imaginary and if it's larger or smaller than the object in question.
