Manual or calibration method for HP 70950A osa

SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the calibration procedure for the HP 70950 Optical Spectrum Analyser, which is integrated into the HP 71450A mainframe. The user, Simone, seeks a manual or guidance on correcting a 1.1nm wavelength shift in the 1.3um region. While the offset command can temporarily adjust the shift, it resets upon powering off the device, necessitating a proper calibration method. A link to the Agilent website is provided, where manuals for this obsolete product can be accessed.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of optical spectrum analyzers, specifically the HP 70950 model.
  • Familiarity with calibration procedures for optical instruments.
  • Knowledge of wavelength measurement in the 1.3um region.
  • Basic skills in navigating manufacturer websites for technical documentation.
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the calibration procedure for the HP 70950 Optical Spectrum Analyser.
  • Explore the Agilent website for additional manuals and resources related to obsolete HP products.
  • Learn about wavelength offset adjustments in optical spectrum analyzers.
  • Investigate alternative calibration methods for similar optical instruments.
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for optical engineers, laboratory technicians, and anyone involved in the maintenance and calibration of optical spectrum analyzers, particularly those using HP or Agilent equipment.

Hello, I have got a HP 70950 Optical Spectrum Analyser, embedded into a HP 71450A mainframe. Can anyone supply a copy of this manual to me? If not, does anyone know the procedure to calibrate the wavelength, which is now 1.1nm shifted in the 1.3um region. I can use the offset command, but anytime I turn off the instrument, the offset is resetted, so I need the proper calibration procedure. Thanks
Simone
Please send manual to me (<< e-mail address deleted by berkeman >>), or post it here as link

I searched at the Agilent website (HP no longer makes test equipment -- Agilent has their product lines now). Here's a page with the manuals for this obsolete product:
