Is it necessary for a hardware electronics design engineer to know hitech math and physics to do his daily work. Can he survive without them?

It depends entirely on what you mean by "hitech". But the answer is probably no, calculus and advanced E&M theory are not used on a daily basis by most board or chip designers.
