I Metrics of GR Solutions: Comp List, Hist & Viability

Click For Summary
A comprehensive list of gravitational radiation (GR) solutions, along with their developmental history and viability as practical models for the observable universe, is sought. The discussion highlights the importance of resources like "Exact Solutions of Einstein's Field Equations" by Stephani et al. as a potential starting point for this research. Participants emphasize the need for detailed information on various GR solutions to assess their applicability. The viability of these models is crucial for understanding their relevance in astrophysical contexts. Further contributions and references are encouraged to enhance the knowledge base on this topic.

Does anyone know of a comprehensive list of solutions to GR, their developmental history, and the viability for serving as a practical model for the observable universe?

I've been thinking some more about the Hawking - Penrose Singularity theorem and was wondering if you could help me gain a better understanding of the assumptions they made when they wrote it, in 1970. In Hawking's book, A Brief History of Time (chapter 3, page 25) he writes.... In 1965 I read about Penrose’s theorem that any body undergoing gravitational collapse must eventually form a singularity. I soon realized that if one reversed the direction of time in Penrose’s theorem, so that...
