SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the relationship between spin polarization and mirror axes in a physical system. It is established that the direction of spin polarization is perpendicular to the mirror axis. The inquiry seeks clarification on the underlying reasons for this phenomenon and requests related references for further understanding.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of spin polarization in quantum mechanics
  • Familiarity with mirror symmetry in physical systems
  • Knowledge of bulk projected surfaces in material science
  • Basic principles of angular momentum in physics
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the principles of spin polarization in quantum systems
  • Explore mirror symmetry and its implications in condensed matter physics
  • Study the effects of angular momentum on spin states
  • Investigate relevant literature on spintronics and related phenomena
USEFUL FOR

Consider a system with a mirror axis (bulk projected surface), I want to know the direction of spin polarization on the mirror axis. The result is that the spin is perpendicular to the mirror axis, but I don't understand the reason.
If someone have related references, please recommend to me. Thanks!

You'll find it easier to understand if you wrote out a more complete description of the system and where the spin polarization is observed.
