Modelling the Earth's Magnetic Field

  1. May 15, 2008 #1
    hey everyone,
this is for a school project, I'm wondering what would be the best for building a model to represent the earth's magnetic field. it has to be 3D so what would be the best way to represent this? Also it has to do a demonstration what would be a good way of demonstrating the Earth's magnetic field thru the model. Any suggestions would be Greatly appreciated.

use thin iron wires around the sphere. you need to bend them and fix them at the poles.

you can hide a magnet inside the sphere which would have a similar magnetic field pattern.
