Need Help with Free Body Diagram of Oil & Gas Packer Tool

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on creating a Free Body Diagram (FBD) for an oil and gas packer tool assembly, specifically involving a casing with premium threads and a packer set within it. Participants seek equations to determine various forces and reaction forces acting on the assembly. The context is primarily related to drill strings and casing in petroleum industry production wells, emphasizing the need for visual aids and diagrams to facilitate understanding.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of Free Body Diagrams (FBD)
  • Knowledge of forces and reaction forces in mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with oil and gas packer tools
  • Basic concepts of drill strings and casing in petroleum engineering
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the principles of Free Body Diagrams in mechanical engineering
  • Study the mechanics of oil and gas packer tools
  • Learn about the forces acting on drill strings in production wells
  • Explore software tools for creating detailed engineering diagrams
USEFUL FOR

Petroleum engineers, mechanical engineers, and students studying oil and gas engineering who are involved in the design and analysis of packer tools and related assemblies.

Has anyone created a thread on Free Body Diagram on assembly having many components ? For example a Casing having premium threads in both end and a set packer within it. What would be the FBD equations to determine various forces and reaction forces

Why don't you post some diagrams and then maybe someone can provide an answer?

It would help if we knew the subject field.
Maybe drill strings, or casing in petroleum industry production wells?
