Need help with some modern physics and mechanics questions

Ok, so am going to post 20+ modern physics and mechanics questions, and am hoping you guys can help me with them. I study in university, and was surprised during my vacation by being told that I have a calculus and physics examination in a week. I took care of the calculus part, but I really need help with the physics, so I'll be posting each question, and once a question is answered and explained to me, I'll post the next one.

Shall we? All I need is a yes.

And post them in the homework section, using the template (ie showing the work you've already done). :wink:

(btw, it might be many hours before you get a reply, so you may prefer to ask several questions at once, but again please put them in separate threads)

TL;DR: Jackson or Zangwill for Electrodynamics? Hi, I want to learn ultrafast optics and I am interested in condensed matter physics, ie using ultrafast optics in condensed matter systems.
