SUMMARY

The discussion centers on subnetting the IP address 192.169.9.0 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. The user seeks confirmation on whether they have correctly divided this IP into equal subnetworks. The subnet mask indicates a Class C network, allowing for 256 total addresses, with 254 usable for hosts. Proper subnetting techniques must be applied to ensure efficient network segmentation.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of IP addressing and subnetting
  • Familiarity with subnet masks and their implications
  • Knowledge of Class C networks
  • Basic networking concepts
NEXT STEPS
  • Learn how to calculate subnet ranges for Class C networks
  • Explore subnetting tools like Subnet Calculator
  • Study Variable Length Subnet Masking (VLSM)
  • Understand the implications of network segmentation on performance
USEFUL FOR

Network engineers, IT students, and anyone involved in designing or managing IP networks will benefit from this discussion.

So basically The IP address I was given was 192.169.9.0, subnet mask 255.255.255.0. I was told to divide the IP into equal subnetworks.
Have I done this correctly?
