SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the orientation of the Nintendo Wii when playing GameCube games, specifically whether it is better to position the console upright or horizontally. Users confirm that both orientations are acceptable, with no significant impact on performance or safety. The manual indicates that removing side panels for memory card and controller access is permissible when the Wii is horizontal. Additionally, anecdotal evidence suggests that the console operates effectively even when accidentally knocked over.

No it won't make any difference. I've even mistakenly had my wii knocked over the side hanging by the cords and it worked just fine, minus the infrared function.

I'm not familiar with the systems, but is there a cooling airflow difference?
