AI Thread Summary
Personal messaging on the website is technically possible, but it is generally discouraged to maintain the open forum's integrity and resourcefulness. Questions should be posed publicly to allow for broader participation and responses, benefiting the entire community. Engaging in private conversations can diminish the value of shared knowledge. Additionally, cultural differences may affect perceptions of terms like "meaningless," highlighting the importance of context in communication. Overall, the emphasis is on fostering open dialogue rather than private interactions.

You can, but in general you should not. Questions should be posed in the open forum so that others can reply.

Except for personal comments or questions that other people should have no interest in.

And also so that others can see them. Look at the View counts, you will see that threads are read by many more people than are actively participating. PF is a resource for everyone, and private conversations lose that advantage.

1) Your questions aren't meaningless. You are probably just confused a bit and need to take a step back.

2) You should never be ashamed of 1) I understand that is easier said than done because we all have egos, but it is something that you will encounter from time to time in life as you learn.

3) You show effort to produce your work, that's great (well over half the battle we typically have). We prefer you use LaTeX Guide to format equation as opposed to pictures of handwriting. However, no one would waste much time replying if they truly thought you were a "lost cause" - so to speak. If you have gotten replies, we are interested in seeing you turn things around.

4) It's not easy to make an omelet without cracking an egg. If replies seem "short", its most likely unintended interpretation. We are trying to let you know you are you are doing something wrong, hence the conflicting results. Sometimes not as easy as it sounds.

I guess somewhere in the background is the issue, once brought up in one of the threads in math section, that some non-english people treat "meaningless" as neutral, and some as a derogatory term. Cultural/language differences. It's neutral in english, so it appears on PF, but e.g. if directly translated to polish, it is a little bit harsh.

Hmm. 'Meaningless' has never struck me as particularly neutral.
But then again, I'm a Pole, so...
