Homework Statement

An object is 25.0 cm to the left of a lens with a focal length of + 15 .0 cm. A second lens of focal length +15.0 cm is 30.0 cm to the right of the first lens. Find the location of the final image and draw it out.

Homework Equations

1/f = 1/di + 1/do

The Attempt at a Solution

di=fdo/(do-f) = 37.5cm

The object of the second lens is the image of the first lens. This gives a second object distance of -7.5cm.

di2=f2do2/(do2-f2) = 5cm

Does this make physical sense? Would the second image be positioned to the right of the second lens in the diagram but to the left of the initial image?[/B]
