Calculating Max Force on Pillow Block Bearings for Reverse Hyper

Click For Summary
The discussion revolves around calculating the maximum force on pillow block bearings used in a homemade Reverse Hyper machine. The user has built a pendulum system with two 5/8'' pillow block bearings, each rated for approximately 6.25 kN. They seek equations or reference materials to determine the forces exerted on these bearings under varying loads and speeds. The request highlights a need for technical guidance in assessing the mechanical stresses involved. Accurate calculations are essential for ensuring the safety and functionality of the equipment.

Hey Wizards,

I recently built a Reverse Hyper, picture attached, for my home gym. It's a basic pendulum on which weight is added. It currently utilizes 2 - 5/8'' pillow block bearings for the pivot. Each are rated to ~6.25 KN.

Can anyone provide me with the equations or reference material, so that I can calculate the maximal force exerted on the pillow block bearings with different loads and speeds?

Thanks!

No one wants the challenge?? lol, just kidding...

Had my central air system checked when it sortta wasn't working. I guess I hadn't replaced the filter. Guy suggested I might want to get a UV filter accessory. He said it would "kill bugs and particulates". I know UV can kill the former, not sure how he thinks it's gonna murder the latter. Now I'm finding out there's more than one type of UV filter: one for the air flow and one for the coil. He was suggesting we might get one for the air flow, but now we'll have to change the bulb...
