One of my favorite times of the year. If I'm lucky I may even get on the ballot, but it's a lot of fun in any case. :)
Make it impossible for us to leave you off :)

Looking forward to the results. It would be cool if there was an award for the member who uses multiquote the most. It is cool when people use it.

Polls opening very shortly. 3 big changes from last year. We merged Astro/Cosmo in with Physics. We axed the humor award. 2 winners will be selected for each category.

Nice. Man, you guys need a 🏆reaction emoji, so we can use these on the winners.

Which goes well in hand with my suggestion for a trophy for the most geeky post of the year or month! Monthly might be too much, though!

Who do you feel made the most geeky post in 2025?

Well, I’m not sure if the throphy should be limited to either thread or post. But if thread, obviously it can only win once.

Now, make no mistake, I enjoy this thread immensely, to the point that I even DM’ed the OP out of the blue telling him so! (A bad stalker-like habit I picked up god knows where.) i got a positive response though so I can hardly have offended.

But yeah an example of a winner thread would, without serious contenders, be this one by @Andy Resnick :

What I really love about it is the first statement in the first post:

TL;DR petrology

I enjoy each and every picture (and trying to read the text) but as far as the accompanying text is concerned I might as well have tried to read Herman Weyl's "The Theory of Groups and Quantum Mechanics" straight out of elementary school. YMMV of course. I realize you're not all as dumb as me!
