The discussion centers on recommendations for philosophy books that are not focused on the history of the field. Participants suggest a variety of influential works, including "Physics and Philosophy" by Werner Heisenberg, which explores the intersection of these two disciplines, and "Fear of Knowledge" by Paul Boghossian, addressing epistemological issues. Imanuel Kant's "Critique of Pure Reason" is highlighted, particularly noting Kemp Smith’s translation for its clarity. Additionally, Robert Paul Wolff's commentary on Kant's work is recommended for deeper understanding. Charles S. Peirce's "The Essential Peirce: Selected Philosophical Writings" is also mentioned, emphasizing its significance in contemporary philosophy. What do you want? History of? Recent ones related to physics?

Do you want specific philosophers or books on the field and its study?

I would like books that are not on the history of philosophy, any type of book is a good suggestion. What philosophy books have you read that were good?

“Physics and Philosophy” by Werner Heisenberg.

“Fear of Knowledge” by Paul Boghossian.

“Critique of Pure Reasoning” by Imanuel Kant (Kemp Smith’s translation).

“Kant’s Theory of Mental Activity: A Comentary on The Transcendental Analytic of the Critique of Pure Reasoning” by Robert Paul Wolff (I needed this book to understand Kant’s CPR).

“The Essential Peirce: Selected Philosophical Writings” by Charles S. Peirce (I believe this is a two-volume set)
