Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around recommendations for physics textbooks that contain a significant number of problems, particularly in the context of Classical Mechanics. Participants share their experiences and suggestions regarding various resources.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Homework-related

Main Points Raised

  • One participant recalls seeing a textbook with many problems but cannot remember the title, seeking help from others.
  • Another participant recommends the Schaum's Outline series for its abundance of worked examples and exercises, noting that these are generally more affordable than standard textbooks.
  • A third participant suggests a specific textbook link, questioning if it is the one being sought.
  • A later reply indicates that the suggested titles do not match the original inquiry but expresses appreciation for the recommendations provided.
  • Another participant proposes a different textbook link, asking if it might be the correct one.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants do not reach a consensus on the specific textbook being sought, as multiple suggestions are provided without confirming which, if any, is the correct one.

Contextual Notes

There are limitations in the discussion regarding the specificity of the original request and the potential overlap in textbook content among the recommendations.

Who May Find This Useful

Students or individuals seeking textbooks with extensive problem sets in physics, particularly in Classical Mechanics.

I remember I've seen here some book recommendations on Classical Mechanics, and when I saw few pages of a particular one from the Amazon it had a TON of problems after each chapter but I somehow forgot to bookmark it... Can someone provide me with the name? Thanks!

For a lot of worked examples and exercises, I have always liked the Schaum's Outline series. There is one for each of Engineering Mechanics: Statics, Engineering Mechanics Dynamics, Fluid mechanics, Fluid Dynamics, and others. They are typically much less expensive than textbooks.
