Homework Help Overview

The discussion revolves around generating ideas for an 8th-grade level physics working model, focusing on topics such as flight and electromagnetism.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Conceptual clarification

Approaches and Questions Raised

  • Participants suggest various project ideas, including cryogenically freezing copper rings, building a motor, creating a rubber band ornithopter, and exploring magnetic fluid. There are inquiries about the originality of the projects and whether participants have conducted prior research for inspiration.

Discussion Status

The conversation is ongoing, with participants sharing ideas and prompting each other to explore additional resources for project inspiration. Some guidance has been offered regarding searching for existing science fair projects.

Contextual Notes

There is a mention of the need for the project to be unique, and participants are encouraged to consider the feasibility of their ideas within the constraints of a group project.

I need some ideas for a 8 grade level physics working model for a group project. I am thinking of flight or electro magnetism.

Cryogenically freeze some copper rings and shoot them with magnets?

Tell us some more of your ideas. Have you searched Google for the topic of Science Fair Projects?

Like building a motor
Or (I think overly ambitious) a small rubber band ornithopter.

Or also magnetic fluid

I'll repeat that this search should give you *lots* of ideas. Also look up the Intel Science & Engineering Competition -- there are some pretty amazing projects spread across a wide range of topics.

Will do

I got the idea of a easy to build motor (not homo polar mind you) not sure because it really needs to bet one of a kind.
