SUMMARY

Carla is attempting to plot a mesh tally using MCNPX but is encountering difficulties. The correct procedure involves using the gridconv tool to create a dat file from the input, followed by utilizing Tecplot for visualization. It is essential to ensure that the mesh tally is properly defined within the MCNPX platform to facilitate accurate plotting.

PREREQUISITES
  • Familiarity with MCNPX version 2.8 or higher
  • Understanding of mesh tally definitions in MCNPX
  • Knowledge of gridconv tool for data file generation
  • Experience with Tecplot for data visualization
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the functionality of the gridconv tool in MCNPX
  • Learn how to define mesh tallies in MCNPX
  • Explore Tecplot features for plotting data files
  • Investigate common troubleshooting techniques for MCNPX plotting issues
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for nuclear engineers, researchers using MCNPX for simulations, and anyone involved in plotting mesh tallies and visualizing simulation data.

mcnp mesh tally plot help
hi dears

I am trying to plot my mesh tally with no success.
Try it on vised (no tally no plot) and on promt (see photo)...
if anyone can give an insight is highly appreciated.

Dear Carla
Mesh tally in MCNPX or higher versions are plotted using the gridconv first to make a dat file of your input. Then you must use Tecplot to be able to plot your mesh tally.

HII I HOPE YOU ARE DOING WELL,
