In summary, the person is a freshman in college and is undecided between majoring in computer science or mathematics. They are seeking advice on possible options for grad school or jobs in each field and are considering double majoring, but are concerned about the workload. They have been advised to talk to the undergraduate advisor and do some background reading on professional organizations in both fields. Suggestions have also been made to take summer classes to balance the workload.

This would be the perfect question to ask the undergraduate advisor of the appropriate program. Give their office a call and set up a meeting with both of the advisors.
In addition, take a look at these professional organizations, they should give you some sort of idea about what mathematicians and computer scientists do:

A little background reading before your meetings:
American Mathematical Society: http://www.ams.org/
Mathematical Association of America: http://www.maa.org

American Association for Artificial Intelligence: http://www.aaai.org/
Association for Computing Machinery: http://info.acm.org/
IEEE Computer Society: http://www.computer.org/portal/site/ieeecs/index.jsp
Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics: http://www.siam.org/

Trying to double major would be extremely difficult.
