I am writing a paper for an undergraduate quantum mechanics course (my second quantum course) on the following topic

The role of entanglement in quantum computing

I personally am not sure in regards to textbooks and/or research papers, but you may find "The God Effect" to be an interesting novel. It discusses the applications of Entanglement in computing very clearly, but also not very technically. You may find it useful.
