The discussion centers around the complexities of love, particularly in the context of drunkenness and personal feelings. Participants debate whether feelings of love experienced while intoxicated are genuine, with some arguing that if love is only felt when drunk, it may not be true love. The conversation also touches on the nature of love itself, with differing views on whether it is merely a biological urge to breed or a deeper emotional connection. Some assert that love involves commitment and sacrifice, while others challenge the notion of "true love" as a magical concept, suggesting it is instead a physiological response. The dialogue meanders into humorous anecdotes about drunken behavior and the absurdity of certain situations, ultimately leading to a consensus that love, while real, is often misunderstood and intertwined with physical attraction and hormonal influences.

Well, i think there that love, lust and 'attraction' all do exist, and have many intersections points in the areas they occupy in the human feelings structure [i know its kinda nerdy sentence...me not btw..]

quick example to point out some difference; 'bad men' got attracted to prostituites, and 'have fun' with them, but they don't care about them, which by this i can say they don't 'love' them...just they make some animalistic process...

oh btw..i still think that animals can love each other ..

Here's a nice realted story I saw on some horrible 'Animals do the Funniest Things' kind of show. There was this lake (I forget where) that was full of swans, so they put lots of swan shaped pedalo things in it for people to hire out and ride around in. Then they decided that these boats were unsafe for both man and swan, and so they took them all away. But one of the cobs in the lake had fallen for one of the boats, and he pined and pined for it until the swan shaped boat was returned to the lake. The cob and the boat are now a very happy (if barren) couple.

It must be true love if he doesn't mind all of the other swans laughing and pointing at him.

haha nice story,
You know that swan is kinda of superficial a bit :-p

I remeber when i was in 6th grade [Oops! that was 7 years ago!] when a friend of mine was tellnig me how sexy the 'female fighter' on that X video game, he was joking that he is goin to marry her

Yeah dude, i heard once even that the many attractive human faces does not exist in reality, but in the 'matrix' of computers...and some humans got attracted to them,

who knows those ppl who love from the first sight or just go for looks only may got in love with those imaginary 'issues'

I for one do believe that love is real. I just think that people often confuse it with their physiological responses. I agree with franz and bladiblah that the urge to breed is hormones and when combined with alcohol, lowered inhibitions. I do not consider the urge to breed to be love. That's a physiological response.

Love is something that comes from building your life around another person. Its about considering another person to be more important than yourself. It is a choice that is made, a sacrafice that one hopes will be returned. I do not consider it an emotion, but it may be the cause of many very strong emotions.

I also believe that animals are capable of love. I doubt it is like human love, but they do seem to form attachments to othersfor purposes that resemble love. Some animals that come to mind as good examples are whales, dolphins, apes, dogs and some species of birds.
