SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the need for forums where amateur researchers and students can submit their work and engage with professors from prestigious institutions. Participants suggest that the Physics Forums (PF) is a valuable platform for such interactions. Amateurs are encouraged to utilize the independent research section of the site while adhering to the established rules. Direct communication with local professors is recommended over mass-emailing, which is likely to be ignored.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of independent research submission guidelines
  • Familiarity with Physics Forums (PF) platform
  • Basic communication skills for engaging with academic professionals
  • Knowledge of research etiquette in academic settings
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore the independent research section of Physics Forums
  • Learn effective communication strategies for reaching out to professors
  • Research best practices for submitting amateur research in academic contexts
  • Investigate other online platforms for academic collaboration and feedback
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for amateur researchers, physics students, and anyone seeking to connect with academic professionals for feedback on their research work.

Hi there, i am an amateur researcher in physics

I want to know if there is any forum where students or amateurs can submit their research work or interact with professors from top institutions?

Who knows i might make a breakthrough with my work :)

Students should be talking to their own professors first. Amateurs can submit in the independent research section on this site (read the rules first) or try to contact someone nearby them to talk about their research, but don't bother mass-emailing people, you'll just get ignored.

I hate to burst your bubble, but PF is as good as it gets!
