Robotics Simulators: Find Best for 3D Simulations & Debugging

Click For Summary
RoboLogix is highly regarded as one of the best robotics simulators available, particularly for 3D simulations, tool center point calculations, and debugging programs written in scripting languages. Users appreciate its effectiveness for palletizing tasks and its accurate TCP calculations, especially when working with 5-axis robots like the Fanuc LR200. The scripting language in RoboLogix is noted for being user-friendly compared to alternatives from ABB or Kawasaki. While Microsoft Robotics Studio is an option, it is considered cumbersome compared to RoboLogix. For purchasing, RoboLogix is available through Logic Design Inc. in North America and directly from their website.

I am looking for a good robotics simulator. I have heard that RoboLogix is useful for 3D simulations such as tool center point calculations and debugging of programs written using scripting languages. Are there any other robotics simulators out there?

For the money, RoboLogix is by far the best robotics simulator on the market. If you are already using it, you are better off to stick with it. You can try Microsoft Robotics Studio, but it is very cumbersome in comparison to RoboLogix. We started using RoboLogix about six months ago with our 5-axis Fanuc LR200 and it works really good. The palletizing function is excellent and it provides very accurate TCP calculations. I really like the scripting language as well - much easier than ABB or Kawasaki.

Thanks for the information. I am definitely looking for a simulator that will allow me to write my own robotics programs and then test them. We do a lot of palletizing with robots at the company where I work, and tool center point calculations are very useful for some of the welding processes that we perform. Do you know who sells RoboLogix?

TL;DR: Jackson or Zangwill for Electrodynamics? Hi, I want to learn ultrafast optics and I am interested in condensed matter physics, ie using ultrafast optics in condensed matter systems. However, before I get onto ultrafast optics I need to improve my electrodynamics knowledge. Should I study Jackson or Zangwill for Electrodynamics? My level at the moment is Griffiths. Given my interest in ultrafast optics in condensed matter, I am not sure which book is better suited for me. If...
