Hello to all members!

I'm looking for specific names of 3 mechanical components from the video:

Component name 1: min 0:52 from the video
Component name 2: min 1:01 from the video
Component name 3 (the brake): min 3:53 from the video

Perhaps anyone also has a link to the 3 components?

I would be very grateful for any help! 😊

PS:
I am the mother of 3 boys who really want to have a rotating climbing wall in their garage.
Unfortunately, I have no much of technical knowledge and therefore ask for your help. We are currently in the early stages of the project and are looking to see if we can implement it ourselves.

Welcome to PF.

It will take a bit of thinking to fully understand, reverse engineer, or improve the mechanism, but here is a summary so far.

1. The hydraulics unit is probably a small hydraulic pump driven by the top shaft. By restricting the fluid flow rate, the sink rate of the wall can be regulated.

2. The lever probably adjusts the hydraulic pressure before the fluid flows, so the wall can be used by people of different weight.

3. Your immediate response to getting your foot caught at the bottom of the machine would be to pull yourself up using the hand holds, which would make things worse. The bottom slat mechanical lock is probably a safety feature that prevents you getting your foot trapped under the machine.

If a patent exists, it would be interesting to know the patent number.
There are solutions other than hydraulics available to control the wall sink rate.

Welcome to PhysicsForums. Unfortunately, this project has enough dangerous aspects that we will not be able to help you beyond the post above. Perhaps you can find local climbing enthusiasts who can help with this project. Good luck, and please be safe.
