I don't know if this is a math question, but my math teacher gave this fun sheet to me but I have no idea to do it because I have no idea what it is asking. Maybe someone can help me out:
You can change one letter on each step, and each step has to contain a "real word". You can move up or down the ladeder.

point
-----

-----

-----

-----
raids

This is one ladder. Another one is:

bolt
------

------

------

------
card

Anyone know how to do these question?

Well, there's no system. At each level you just take each letter from the word you want to "get to" and see if it fits the word you've got. Note that the order of the letters in each step isn't scrambled.

For example, in the first one the only letter that can be placed in its place from "raids" in "point" is 'a' which then changes the word to "paint".

Well Just try them out.
Aviv87 has instructed very well

The first one:
Point
Paint
Pains
Rains
Raids

The second one:

Bolt
Colt
Cold
Cord
Card
