SUMMARY

The discussion centers on using SIMetrix for testing a logic circuit designed with a LS153 multiplexer. The user seeks guidance on how to implement high and low inputs in SIMetrix, as they are unfamiliar with the software. They express difficulty in finding a suitable switchable high/low input component for their circuit. Ultimately, they discovered a helpful manual for digital circuit testing that aided their understanding after some experimentation.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of digital logic circuits and Boolean equations.
  • Familiarity with the LS153 multiplexer functionality.
  • Basic knowledge of SIMetrix software for circuit simulation.
  • Experience with digital circuit testing methodologies.
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore SIMetrix documentation for detailed instructions on input configurations.
  • Learn about integrating additional logic gates with the LS153 multiplexer.
  • Research Boolean algebra to optimize circuit design.
  • Study digital circuit testing techniques to improve simulation accuracy.
USEFUL FOR

Electronics students, circuit designers, and engineers involved in digital circuit testing and simulation using SIMetrix.

Not sure if this is in the right thread for this, but it is related to a question I'm doing.

1. Homework Statement

I've been tasked with realising a logic circuit that has 3 inputs and 2 outputs which have separate Boolean equations. The circuit is based around a LS153, 1 of 4 multiplexer which needs additional logic added to make the Boolean outputs. I'm trying various decoder and gates to get the Boolean, but I thought that I'd make a start of the circuit in SIMetrix as we have to test it. I've never used it before properly but though it looked quite straightforward...however, I'm stuck on how we place the hi/low inputs to the circuit. There doesn't seem to be a nice simple switchable hi/low box that I can put onto the inputs. Does anyone have experience of testing digital circuits in SIMetrix that could talk me through how we place an appropriate line voltage and then 'switch' it hi/low to test my circuit.

I found a good manual for digital stuff...worked it out after a few trials and errors.
Tks
