What is space-time singularity?
How it formed...?
Is singularity possible..?
How it formed...?
Is singularity possible..?
The discussion revolves around the concept of space-time singularity, including its definition, formation, and the possibility of its existence. Participants explore theoretical aspects, conceptual clarifications, and the relationship between space and time.
Participants do not appear to reach a consensus on the nature of singularities or the relationship between space and time. Multiple competing views and questions remain unresolved.
Some statements reflect assumptions about the definitions of time and space, and there are indications that participants may not have a shared understanding of fundamental concepts in physics.
This discussion may be of interest to individuals seeking to understand the complexities of space-time concepts, particularly those who are new to the field of physics and looking for clarification on foundational ideas.
"singularity" means "the place where our math models break down and we don't know WHAT is happening". They are "physical" because there is something there, but not something that we understand. For example, the center of a black hole is a "singularity" but we have no idea what's really there. Maybe when we get a theory of Quantum Gravity we'll have a better understanding.Mohan Nivas said:What is space-time singularity?

Time is not a physical quantity na...?
Time is just a measure of interval between occurring event..
Then how it meets with space...?
