AI Thread Summary
To prevent a program from minimizing to the system tray, users should check the program's settings, often found under 'properties' or 'options.' The behavior can vary based on the application, with some allowing customization, such as Windows Blinds, which lets users set windows to "roll up" on double-clicking the title bar. In Windows, minimizing typically sends programs to the taskbar, while in Ubuntu, users can enable or disable this feature without additional software. Clarification is needed on whether the goal is to stop programs from minimizing to the tray or to prevent them from loading there at startup.

How can I stop a program from minimizing to the system tray? THere's probably an easy answer to this, and yes, I googled it.

That's a custom thing, so look in the program's menus, it's probably under 'properties' or 'options' or something like that.

Depends on the customizing application. For instance in Windows blinds you get set the window to "roll up" when double clicking on the title bar of the window. Is Windows the operating system you're running? I know in Ubuntu (Linux) you can enable this feature without installing a customizing app.

Can you clearify what exactly you mean? Are you saying when you minimize a program it goes to the taskbar in the bottom right? Are you trying to stop programs from loading there at startup?

Asus Vivobook S14 flip. The power button is wrecked. Unable to turn it on AT ALL. We can get into how and why it got wrecked later, but suffice to say a kitchen knife was involved: These buttons do want to NOT come off, not like other lappies, where they can snap in and out. And they sure don't go back on. So, in the absence of a longer-term solution that might involve a replacement, is there any way I can activate the power button, like with a paperclip or wire or something? It looks...
