Homework Statement



A rope has forces exerted by pulling on each end. The rope is stationary. A point (P) divides the rope into a left side and right side.

Assume the Right side exerts a force of magnitude T on the Left side. What is the magnitude of of the force exerted on the RIGHT side by the LEFT side?
give answer in terms of T and other constants such a g.

Homework Equations



I am not sure but I know that Newtons 3rd law is to be applied.

The Attempt at a Solution



I know the force is directed towards the left, but I don't know of an equation that is right. I randomly guessed Tg and it told me I was off by a multiplicative factor.

AHH I got it. Simply T...they were tricking me with g.
