SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the ambitious proposal to create The International Library of Knowledge, a modern equivalent of the Library of Alexandria. Participants emphasize the importance of incorporating diverse exhibits, including 1000 scientific and 1000 religious displays, to foster understanding among various cultures and disciplines. The project aims to create a community hub for diplomats, scientists, and the public, facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration and dialogue. Key figures mentioned include Bill Gates and Paul Allen, who are suggested as potential funders for the initial infrastructure.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of interdisciplinary collaboration in educational settings
  • Familiarity with the historical significance of the Library of Alexandria
  • Knowledge of community-building strategies in cultural institutions
  • Awareness of the role of philanthropy in large-scale projects
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the impact of interdisciplinary science on innovation
  • Explore community engagement strategies for cultural institutions

I have the answer!

It wouldn't be fair to limit this to just one part of the world. Too many deserving people would never have the opportunity to visit. Not to mention the hatred and envy that would arise from this being located in the US. :frown:

The only way this can work is to make it a FLOATING CITY! This way you could take this marvel all over the globe. Perhaps we could even make it amphibious, so it could also travel inland for those too far from the coast.

This can work! See the current plans for a "floating city" here http://travel.howstuffworks.com/floating-city.htm

With just a few modifications, you could house your entire project. This would draw in those vacuos celebrities like flies on poop. :-p

Edit - and I think those little crustless sandwiches are a great idea. :approve:

Wow Evo, it looks unsinkable!

What about ice bergs?

And not only sandwiches with the crust cut off, but small coctail
weiners, (vegetable or turkey ones)

And you know Evo, if I wasn't head over heels for Angelina and Jen,
I would be all over you like a kid on a popsicle. lol

I suggest you avoid them.

YES! Don't forget the frilly little cocktail toothpicks! Nothing will get people in a mood conducive to discussing world peace quicker than good eats.

You and the rest of the male population here. Pick a number and stand in line. Or else, step in here and strut your stuff.

Well thanks but I am taken.

But you know when we get the library built, there will be plenty of
time for people to meet new people, and to schmooz, rub elbows
with people, real people, like with faces, and bodies, and stuff.

I know the world has pretty much forgotten how to do that,
and people have been cocooning now for a number of years,
but when the cocoon opens, out emmerges a bunch of
butterfiles. And then, they dance. la lal lal la la, bump bump,
bump bump, la la la la la, bump bump, bump bump...

Well we certainly hope so, or else a whole lot of very important people went to a great deal of trouble for nothing.

Getting from A to B however seems to be a bit of a challenge as we
expected that the US and Canadian governments were on the same page
as us, but we have not heard anything from them on it.
No announcement that I am aware of.

Which is quite strange to me.

Did you stress the little crustless sandwiches and the cocktail weiners?? I still think the floating city is the way to go. Surely Bill Gates would like to have a floating city.

Really? You honestly thought either government was on the same page as anyone? They're not even on the same page with each other. I'm sorry, I didn't think you were serious, especially when talking about it being an international effort. As soon as you're trying to get multiple governments involved, especially involved in something they all need to agree upon, well, I hope you're really fond of red tape, because that's all you're going to get out of this.

Well you know, you're right. I forgot to mention those sandwiches. And
badges. And prizes. We could give prizes. AND you get to keep the mugs!

lol

Well we began to discuss this in ernest when a call was made to revamp
the UN. So we developed it as a suport system for the UN.

I think that with Christmas and the new administration and all the process
that involves, there was just too much to do.
But last year, OCT I think, I read the article where the joint force was formed, for the North American Security Zone and a Canadian General was placed in charge of the combined forces for this term of office. And the force is huge. It contains many ships and men enough to secure the continent.

So this is just a further addition to that initiative.
Then there was the missle defense system which was to be integrated into that, and well we did shoot that down a bit and maybe that stalled things, but that was because it isn't effective as a defense system so we wanted it scaled back. We have some integrity and could not endorse a system
which has not shown to be affective.

But it still has legs, just in a scaled down version.

But the main reason was to move off the net where much diplomacy takes place currently and where arm chair quarterbacks get fat and have no lives
and try to expand that into more of a social gathering of the minds.
