AI Thread Summary
Time travel is a debated topic, with some believing it is possible through theories like 11-dimensional string theory. However, practical time travel remains a distant possibility, with the consensus leaning towards future travel being feasible, while returning to one's past is viewed as highly unlikely. The discussion emphasizes that current scientific understanding does not support backward time travel, as it raises complex paradoxes. The idea of time travel is largely categorized into science fiction, with limited scientific backing for backward movement in time. Overall, the conversation highlights the complexities and limitations surrounding the concept of time travel.

I hope this is where this goes..

Does anyone believe in time travelling..

Also I hope this is considered a physics question...LOL:cool:

I guess it depends on what you term as time traveling.

If you are referring to time travel based on 11 dimensional string theory, then I would have to say yes that it is POSSIBLE, not for a very long time and we'll probably learn to live on the surface of the sun long before that would be possible, but it is POSSIBLE. If the theory is sound anyways.

I don't know of any other scientific theory that would allow time travel. Everything else is science fiction in my belief.

i think you can only got to the future
going back whould be way too confusing

Time travel to another person's future, yes. Time travel to your own future (ala Back to the Future), no.

There doesn't seem to be anything that indicates something can travel backwards in time. I can't even imagine how that would be physically possible unless it is some sort of "looking glass" immutable kind of time travel.

Insights auto threads is broken atm, so I'm manually creating these for new Insight articles. Someone who shows interest in science is initially a welcome development. So are fresh ideas from unexpected quarters. In contrast, there is a scientific community that is meticulously organized down to the last detail, allowing little to no external influence. With the invention of social media and other sites on the internet competing for content, unprecedented opportunities have opened up for...
I am following someone on Youtube who has built a rocket shaped (4 proprllers) drone for the world speed record ... He was having problems with internal heat from electical control gear and battery inside the sealed rocket (about 1kw waste heat) Speed is 500km/hr , I suggested a 4mm hole in the tip of the nose and 8mm hole at rear which should alow sufficient air cooling .. I said this will increase thrust because the air exiting is hotter .. a bit similar to a ram jet ... was I correct...
