AI Thread Summary
The user is experiencing issues with a plot in Mathematica, specifically that it appears jagged at high frequency values instead of smooth. Another user successfully ran the notebook and suggested that the issue may be due to rounding errors or the software's performance variability. A third user pointed out that the y-axis values might be too close to machine precision, making variations difficult to discern. They emphasized that the problem likely stems from scaling rather than a fault in Mathematica itself. The discussion highlights the importance of checking axis scales when troubleshooting plot issues.

HI,

I've done the following but the plot that I get is not what it has to be at the big values of the frequency f. The graph should be smooth but isn't..

Does somebody know where the problem is?!
The nb file is attached.

Thanks,

Hmmm. Strange - I ran your notebook, and I get a smooth curve. Perhaps your computer is having some pretty severe rounding errors. Kind of strange...

well, today it works fine over here too..but I didn't change anything..I think it simply depends of the Mathematica's mood..couldn't find any other reason

thanks for running the file,

Look at your y-axis!

Check to make sure your values aren't close to machine precision.

As J77 said, look at that y axis, the actual variations in your graph are so small that you can't actually tell what the difference between them is. Looks more like a scale problem, than any problem with mathematica.

This week, I saw a documentary done by the French called Les sacrifiés de l'IA, which was presented by a Canadian show Enquête. If you understand French I recommend it. Very eye-opening. I found a similar documentary in English called The Human Cost of AI: Data workers in the Global South. There is also an interview with Milagros Miceli (appearing in both documentaries) on Youtube: I also found a powerpoint presentation by the economist Uma Rani (appearing in the French documentary), AI...
Thread 'Urgent: Physically repair - or bypass - power button on Asus laptop'
Asus Vivobook S14 flip. The power button is wrecked. Unable to turn it on AT ALL. We can get into how and why it got wrecked later, but suffice to say a kitchen knife was involved: These buttons do want to NOT come off, not like other lappies, where they can snap in and out. And they sure don't go back on. So, in the absence of a longer-term solution that might involve a replacement, is there any way I can activate the power button, like with a paperclip or wire or something? It looks...
