Why don't they use pieces of plastic or some material in between two by fours that are vacuum sealed. Isn't the Specific of a vacuum zero?
The discussion centers on the impracticality of using plastic barriers in vacuum-sealed 2x4s for insulation in construction. Key points include the complexity and cost of implementing such systems, the limited lifespan of vacuum seals, and the fact that traditional insulation methods, like fiberglass and double-pane windows, are more effective. The conversation also touches on the theoretical concept of a magnetically suspended, soundproof structure, but emphasizes that achieving a vacuum is not as beneficial as utilizing air for insulation.
PREREQUISITESArchitects, builders, insulation specialists, and anyone interested in innovative construction techniques and thermal management solutions.
