Engineering Voltage Carrier Signal and Voltage Modulating Signal (AM)

AI Thread Summary
The discussion focuses on determining the Voltage Carrier Signal and Voltage Modulating Signal from the power spectrum of an AM signal. The user has calculated the power of the carrier signal (Pc) to be 50 W and the total power in the sidebands to be 16 W. They mention using the formula Power = V^2 / R to relate voltage and power. The modulation voltage relative to the carrier is derived as the square root of the ratio of sideband power to carrier power. The conversation centers on completing the exercise based on these calculations.

Homework Statement
Find the Voltage Carrier Signal and Voltage Modulating Signal (AM) from the power spectrum
Relevant Equations
Pt = Pc(1+(m^2)/2) [Total Power]
m = Vm/Vc [Modulation Factor]
Hello everyone, I'm trying to find the Voltage Carrier Signal and Voltage Modulating Signal from the power spectrum of a AM signal

1) I change the scale dBW to W and I have this:

From this I have that Pc (Power of the Carrier signal) is 50 W and I don't know how to continue with the exercise, someone knows? Thanks

The total power in the sidebands is 2 x 8 = 16 Watts.
Power = V^2 / R
So the modulation voltage relative to the carrier (the modulation factor) is SQRT (16/50).
