Hi every body ,anyone can give me any idea about my Question !
The discussion revolves around the pathways to becoming an astronaut, including educational requirements, citizenship considerations, and the competitiveness of astronaut selection programs. Participants explore various backgrounds and qualifications that may influence candidacy for NASA and other space agencies.
Participants generally agree on the competitive nature of astronaut selection and the significance of educational background. However, there are differing views on the necessity of military experience and the implications of citizenship on candidacy.
There are unresolved assumptions regarding the specific requirements for astronaut candidates from different countries and the varying pathways available based on individual backgrounds.
Individuals interested in pursuing a career as an astronaut, those exploring educational paths in science and engineering, and anyone curious about the astronaut selection process.
Yes it is very selective, but the military is NOT the main place. 99% of the pilots are from the military, but the mission specialists are comprised of a lot of civilians.z-component said:I believe most astronauts are taken from the military (specifically as former test pilots). The astronaut program is VERY selective.
