SUMMARY

Beryllium, discovered in 1798 by Louis-Nicolas Vauquelin, has a rich history of usage primarily in the aerospace and nuclear industries. Historically, Beryllium compounds were utilized in fluorescent lighting tubes until 1949, marking a significant application in lighting technology. The element's unique properties, such as its lightweight and high melting point, have made it valuable in various applications, including aerospace components and X-ray windows. Understanding these historical contexts is essential for a comprehensive study of Beryllium.

Chemistry question..pretty urgent..

Hi, I am doing an element assigment and I was assigned to do Beryllium. Does anyone know how to get overly-detailed information on how Beryllium was discovered and its historical usages? I got everything except those 2 aspects of the assignment.. I only know that Beryllium compounds were used in fluorescent lighting tubes until 1949.

Thanks in advance..=)
