I've been thinking of writing a novel, but all I have is the title: "Love in the Time of Coronavirus".

The spinor calculus is by far the most elegant formulation or generalization of calculus IMO, much more beautiful than tensor calculus tbh. It is easily one of my favorite mathematical physics methods to use to take a new look at old physics, at least on the occasion that I am not in the mood for doing messy experimental computer numerics in the modelling and study of dynamical systems.

Sorry to burst your "I am Legend" dreams but coyotes are indigenous to the San Francisco Bay Area and are frequently around SF proper. I used to visit from a distance a well-behaved coyote family with winter dens in Golden Gate Park during my weekly hikes. Most people think, "Look at the skinny dog!", if noticed at all.

Hmm, sounds more like "12 Monkeys", the future scenes where a male African lion roars over the ruins of a department store?

I've followed the news obsessively. Probably more than I should. I know we need to take breaks, but being trapped at home gives you a lot of free time and I keep shuffling back and forth between news and Twitter sites.
I initially thought I'd be watching a lot of movies. That hasn't happened. Although, I am going to force myself soon to have days off where I do zero news watching and just relax with fun stuff.

I have an ongoing fantasy while watching the clown car COVID review from the White House press room. The denouement of the briefing involves Trump clutching the scalpel in his gut and whispering hoarsely "et tu Fauci?"
The stuff of my daily seditious reverie.

This morning I saw a report on TV about rats on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. With all the restaurants and bars closed, there’s no food waste in the usual locations out back, so the rats have taken to scurrying around the deserted street, fighting over whatever scraps they can find.

Shooting is not allowed in my town, so the deer take refuge here during the hunting season.

Pumping my own gas.

PORTLAND, Ore. — In response to COVID-19, gas stations will no longer be required to enforce regulations against self-service, according to a press release from Oregon State Fire Marshal Jim Walker.

Walker said the state would be implementing new rules immediately, such as allowing people to pump their own gas, to ensure the health and safety of gas retailers.

When I got the cold I initially started to watch the news a lot. After a couple of days I clearly noticed that I was getting more anxious. Being bombarded by such gloomy news of lately takes its toll. That's why I started playing Cities Skylines instead, actually. And I'm listening to relaxing instrumental music too. I feel much less anxious now.

By the way, here's yet another graph :
