Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around the question of what molecules or atoms repel light particles, exploring concepts related to the interaction between light and matter. Participants express varying levels of understanding and seek clarification on the topic.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory
  • Conceptual clarification
  • Debate/contested

Main Points Raised

  • One participant asks about specific molecules or atoms that repel light, indicating a lack of understanding of the underlying physics.
  • Another participant suggests that the term "recoil" may be more appropriate, referencing energy and momentum conservation as relevant principles.
  • A request for visual examples, such as pictures or videos, is made to aid understanding, highlighting the participant's unfamiliarity with the topic.
  • There is a repeated request for clarification on the original question, indicating that some participants find it unclear.
  • A humorous remark is made questioning how someone new to physics can formulate theories, suggesting a light-hearted debate about expertise in the field.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants do not reach a consensus on the original question, with some expressing confusion and others attempting to clarify or reframe the inquiry. Multiple viewpoints are present without resolution.

Contextual Notes

The discussion reflects varying levels of familiarity with physics concepts, and some participants express uncertainty about the terminology and principles involved. There are indications of assumptions that may not be explicitly stated.

Who May Find This Useful

This discussion may be of interest to individuals curious about the interaction between light and matter, especially those new to physics concepts.

Hi I'm not a physicist student or physicist person.

i don't know where to post this.

but i have question.

what molecule or atom that repels when touch the ray or boundary of light?

thank in advance.

you mean "recoil"?

Well, every particle must recoil due to energy and momentum conservation.

can you show me a visual example of it? picture or video in action?

I don't care what's name of that thing.

please consider that physics is not my field and I'm noob.

thank you.

I don't understand your question. Can you give more details, or an example of what you're asking about?

ok give me time to sketch it, it's 3:00am here in the philippines.

i need to sleep.

if my conclusion is correct then my theory is possible.

Thanks in advance. see you tomorrow guys.

if you are a noob in physics, how come you make theories? :P

lol I remember there's a saying. "Either you're really smart, or you're really dumb."
